HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – A California man was trying to get lucky at the blackjack table when Huntington Beach Police Department arrested him for robbery. The man was one of two suspects identified for an ATM robbery that took place earlier this year.
HBPD responded to a report of an ATM robbery back on February 1, but suspects had already fled the scene. After conducting their investigation, both suspects ended up behind bars this weekend.
Neither individuals were named, but the police report indicates one man was having a great time playing California blackjack at a Riverside County casino. The other identified culprit had already been arrested for another crime.

The brief account of the incident was posted on Instagram by HBPD, claiming that “the second suspect was having a great time at the casino in Riverside County. It seems he was trying to press his luck, but the moment we showed up, his winning streak ended.”
The unnamed culprit was playing blackjack for real money, although it’s unknown whether he was using funds stolen from the ATM or not. He was taken into custody and arrested over the weekend.
“Our message is clear: We will find you if you commit a crime in Huntington Beach. It might not happen immediately, but we will track you down and bring you to our jail. Please think twice before becoming our next guest,” said the police department on their Instagram.
