NOTTINGHAM, England – An intoxicated man broke into the Bulwell Casino in Nottingham, England on Friday. Instead of being caught with stolen money or chips, the Nottingham man was found drunk in one of the casino cupboards.

Security footage from the failed casino break-in showed an intoxicated Brooklyn Anthony loitering around blackjack tables and slot machines. He then began breaking down doors, shaking change machines, and attempting to open cupboards but was unsuccessful.

Failed Casino Burglar Jailed For Four Months

It’s assumed that Anthony was looking for money or casino chips, but all he walked away with was four months in jail. The 23-year-old man from Marton Road, Nottingham, plead guilty to burglary on Monday after appearing at the Nottingham Magistrates’ Court.

“We do not underestimate the impact burglaries of this nature can have on businesses so I’m pleased Anthony has been put behind bars just three days after the offence was committed,” said Police Constable Simon Jones of the Nottinghamshire Police Department. Police rapidly responded to the break-in, so fast that the burglar was still inside the casino rummaging around behind the electronic slot machines.

Officers reported on the scene at 11:45 p.m. on Friday. They claimed that Anthony was heavily intoxicated when they appeared on the scene of the burglary.

He also gave police a fake name initially after realizing the implications of his actions. However, it didn’t take police long to identify Anthony and put the man behind bars just three days after the burglary.
