MIAMI – The Miccosukee Casino & Resort will open a smoking room and bar this summer at their Miami, Florida location. Many gamblers in the area were hoping for an announcement of plans to add blackjack and other table games, but the casino will stick to slots, bingo, and poker for the time being.

“Many of our guests have requested a new, indoor, dedicated smoking section, and I am proud that we will be unveiling this unique attraction to them very soon,” said General Manager Brad Rhines in a statement. “It’s a fusion of gaming, sophisticated design, and an upscale bar, all created to cater to our distinguished guests.”

The new smoking section will host 117 slot machines, four 75-inch HD televisions, a full bar, eight bar-top slot machines, and more for patrons of the sections. It will also have a high-technology air filtration system to preserve the air quality of the rest of the casino and ensuring the comfort of smoking guests.

Still No Blackjack At Miccosukee Casino & Resort

The plans to add the smoking room won’t be enough to swing customers of the nearby Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The Hard Rock Hollywood casino has daily $5 blackjack from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET and other blackjack tables that don’t exist at Miccosukee Casino.

Residents also can choose to play legal online blackjack in Florida with Bovada, which offers plenty of different blackjack variations and side bets.
