HUDDERSFIELD – A man from Huddersfield, England has plans to build his dream home after a big win from just a £1 bet. The anonymous man hit the Ace King Progressive blackjack jackpot at the Grosvenor Casino Huddersfield, which paid out an incredible £164,465.
That number translates to roughly 210,246 in American dollars. The 64-year-old man triggered the progressive jackpot by being dealt the same blackjack hand as the dealer, consisting of ace and king suited.
“Never in a million years did I expect I'd walk out of the casino that night £164,000 richer after only placing a £1 bet,” said the man in a statement. “I’ve had plans to build a house for a while now, so I’m going to put the money towards that. Dreams do come true.”
