The Three Best Video Games Where You Can Play Blackjack

  • Grand Theft Auto San Andreas was one of the first video games with blackjack when it released in 2004, with an upgraded version available in Grand Theft Auto Online.
  • Red Dead Redemption 2 is another Rockstar videogame with blackjack, as players can enjoy some western-style gambling at the blackjack table.
  • DLC content for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard includes putting your life on the line for a unique game of blackjack.

LAS VEGAS – It’s no secret that blackjack and video games are both entertaining and fun to play. Here are our three favorite video games where you can play blackjack as part of a distraction from the main storyline.

Grand Theft Auto

The widely-renowned Grand Theft Auto franchise implemented blackjack in their seventh-installment with GTA San Andreas. This game takes place in a fictionalized California and Las Vegas, making it an easy opportunity to expand on gambling.

In San Andreas, you can hit the blackjack table and increase your “gambling skill”, improving this skill by one for every $1,000 spent. The in-game blackjack rules are the same as real-life blackjack and they even allow you to split aces.

Since the game came out in 2004, GTA San Andreas blackjack is outdated. Thankfully, Rockstar implemented a massive casino named the Diamond Casino & Resort for GTA Online.

This casino is playable in Grand Theft Auto V, the most-recent installment of the well-received video game series. The Diamond Casino is fit with plenty of blackjack tables, and even offers high roller blackjack to those who earn a VIP membership for owning a penthouse.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2, another masterpiece from Rockstar Games, features four different locations with blackjack. The game takes place in the Wild West era in 1899, but players can still find time to settle down at the blackjack table.

When not riding around on horseback or dueling opponents, you can take the main character to one of the four live dealer blackjack locations in the gaming world. Take your chances against the dealer at saloons in Rhodes or Blackwater, or venture to the Van Horn Trading Post where two blackjack tables are waiting.

If there aren’t any free spots at the table, take a rest at a nearby hotel and a spot should open up. Blackjack is a great way to rack up some cash for upgrading weapons and buying clothes in the hit western game.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

The Resident Evil video game series is one of the most successful franchises ever. The seventh-title of the franchise, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, features a deadly game of 21 as a part of its DLC (downloadable content).

The expansion features a terrifying blackjack variation where you wake up strapped into a chair in a dark room and forced to play blackjack for your life. The game plays out like classic blackjack, except for the horrifying twist that the loser of each round, either you or the dealer, must lose a finger or receive an electrical shock.

This game differs from regular blackjack since there are no royal symbols, just cards numbered 1-11. The fun and scary twist to the classic game of 21 is a blast for Resident Evil fans and blackjack players.
