EDINBURG, Calif. – Hidalgo County residents can support local foster children by attending the CASA Casino Corral on August 10. Guests can expect to play poker, blackjack, roulette, and more casino games at the fundraiser event.
The event is hosted by the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), who take care of abused or neglected foster children and find them a permanent home. Donations, sponsorships, and event attendance will help CASA donate school supplies and clothes for less fortunate local children.
“There will be a dinner that evening and following the dinner, then the entire night is devoted to casino night", said Veronica Whitacre of CASA Hidalgo County. “All the funds go directly to CASA to help buy clothes and shoes for the children. In August we’re having a shoe drive because they don’t have a lot of things. So that’s what we do for our children.”
Casino Night Offers Blackjack, Roulette, Poker + More
When asked about the types of games to expect, Whitacre assured the Valley Central news host that they will “100%” have different games and have “everything”, although she only specified roulette. She then explained that all the casino games like California blackjack and roulette are provided by one gentleman who brings all the games, as he did in last year’s rendition of the fundraiser.
The casino night event begins at 7 p.m. and includes a dinner, sponsorships, and a shoe drive. It will be held at St. Michael’s Event Center in Edinburg, California on August 10.
