LAS VEGAS – The Instagram gambling sensation Tim Myers, posting on Instagram under the name Tim.Naki, officially hit one million followers on Instagram on Tuesday. As a result, he placed a $100,000 legal blackjack bet, staying true to his challenge of betting 10 cents for every Instagram follower.
To celebrate the occasion, the Canadian traveled to Las Vegas, where he found it surprisingly hard to find high roller blackjack tables fit to meet his quota. The Red Rock Casino stepped up, allowing Myers to bet big on the felt and also record for his massive fan base on Instagram.
Tim.Naki Doubles Down On $50,000 Hand
Myers journey of going to blackjack and betting 10 cents for every follower led him to a $100,000 bet on Tuesday. He planned on splitting the bet evenly between online and at the felt at Red Rock, but then Tim got into a double-down situation.
He started online with $40,000 on the nose, and $5,000 on each of the live dealer blackjack side bets. Myers gets dealt 11 and faced a six, a position where he easily doubles down in a favorable position.
He lands that desired 10, finishing with 21 and beating the dealer who ends with 18. That marks a $160,000 win for Tim.Naki, which lessens the blow of losing all three hands on the felt later.
Myers was determined to play blackjack in Nevada, but can only do $10,000 per hand and play multiple hands. He played three $10,000 hands for a total of $30,000, losing all three when the dealer flips over a 20.
The Red Rock Casino did him a favor by letting him film when other casinos wouldn’t, but Myers enjoyed far more success at the online live dealer blackjack table.
